Jewelry Mechanix's Custom-Designed `Guitar-Pick' Watch is Latest Instrument Of Legendary Guitarist John Jorgenson
HADDONFIELD, N.J., April 7 /PRNewswire/ -- It began as an internet dialog between a master craftsman and jewelry designer and a master guitar player and musician, both with a passion for timing. It led to the design and creation of what may arguably be one of the most unique watches on the planet -- a one-of-a-kind wristwatch featuring John Jorgenson's signature Ocean Turquoise MOTO guitar pick as the face.

The watch is the creation of Bill Green and Tom Fried, who together work in an unassuming shop tucked away in historic Haddonfield, NJ. Green is a jewelry designer and metal smith; Fried is a master watchmaker. Together they have been creating one-of-a-kind luxury time pieces for the fortunate few who have discovered them. The asymmetrical ``guitar-pick'' watch illustrates the degree of imagination and innovation that they bring to the pieces they create. The entire case of the watch is the exaggerated shape of the guitar back milled from a single billet of aircraft-quality aluminum. The bezels were cast in 14k white gold which was decorated with a ``spot-facing'' finish. An ETA movement was modified by Fried to attain greater accuracy and autonomy. Fried then custom cut crystals of the finest mineral glass for both the front and the back of the watch so that both the beauty of the face and the beauty of the watch movement can be viewed. The recess holes on the back of the watch were then set with synthetic rubies. The result is a mating of form and function to create a unique instrument of time that reflects Jorgenson's passions.

About Jewelry Mechanix: Bill Green is the president of Jewelry Mechanix, the establishment where Bill Green and Tom Fried have been creating exquisite pieces of jewelry for over 20 years. Located in historic Haddonfield, NJ, Jewelry Mechanix is also renowned for restoration and repair work on estate, antique, and rare jewelry and timepieces.

About John Jorgenson: A three time ``Country Guitarist of the Year'' award winner, John is not only one of the best guitarists on the planet, but he also plays bass, drums, banjo, mandolin, mandocello, lap top guitar, dobro, bassoon, saxophone, clarinet, sitar, and keyboards. He is one of the hottest session musicians in the world. He has toured extensively with Elton John and performs and tours regularly with his band ``The Hellecasters,'' and was an original founding member of the Desert Rose Band. Last year he released his second solo album ``Emotional Savant.''

In Response To: ladies pocket watch (Bill Hart)

I had a good experience with a local shop. The owner said my watch wasn't worth fixing. It was a gift from my grandfather, so I told him to go-ahead anyway. I remembered the owner's honesty later, when I wanted advice on whether a yardsale find was worth repairing.

I recommend The Timepiece Mechanix of Haddonfield, NJ.
